Associate Medical Director, Safety Evaluation and Risk Management (SERM)

About the role

GSK is seeking an Associate Medical Director to lead safety evaluation and risk management (SERM) for its clinical development and post‑marketing assets. The role provides medical and scientific expertise, shaping pharmacovigilance strategy and ensuring evidence‑based safety decisions across global programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead signal detection and evaluation activities for assigned products.
• Drive production of regulatory periodic reports, risk management plans (RMPs) and safety contributions to global submissions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Clinical Operations, Safety, Regulatory, Biostatistics, Commercial) on trial design, safety oversight and scientific communication.
• Review and interpret safety data, escalating issues to senior management and governance as needed.
• Respond to auditor/inspector inquiries and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) within timelines.

Required profile

• Medical degree with extensive experience in clinical safety, pharmacovigilance and risk management.
• Proven ability to work in a global, matrixed environment and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking, data synthesis and decision‑making skills.
