Assistant Manager, Production

About the role

TDW is seeking a proactive, people‑oriented Assistant Manager to support daily production operations and drive continuous improvement. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead a team of 28‑30 operators on the shop floor, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while preparing to step into a full Production Manager role within 1–2 years.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily production schedule and coordinate shop‑floor activities to meet priorities and deadlines.
• Identify production challenges quickly and implement effective solutions.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of welders, machinists, assemblers, and painters, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Work closely with maintenance technicians to maximise equipment availability and support preventive/corrective maintenance planning.
• Monitor operational KPIs (productivity, OEE, quality, safety) and drive corrective actions and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Promote a safety‑first mindset and lead 5S, Lean, and process‑optimization initiatives.
• Act as the Production Manager’s right hand, participating in operational and strategic decision‑making and preparing for future leadership.
