Assistant in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Research & Teaching)

About the role

The Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Ghent University seeks an assistant to support academic research, teaching, and departmental services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct academic research for a doctoral dissertation on CAR T‑cell therapy for lymphoma within the Hematology and Medical Oncology group.
• Assist in teaching activities for the Faculty’s degree programmes.
• Support internal and external services of the department.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Medicine, valid at the start of the appointment.
• Certificate of equivalence for non‑EU diplomas (NARIC) if applicable.
• Interest in academic or project‑based research and services.
• Teaching experience or participation in training, conferences, etc. is recommended.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills; independent, problem‑solving, organized attitude.

What we offer

• Two‑year fixed‑term appointment, renewable twice for two years each, based on positive evaluation.
• Start date earliest 1 January 2027.
• Remuneration according to salary scale AAP3.
