AI Engineer

About the role

As an AI Engineer at Faktion you will work on a wide variety of projects across manufacturing, finance and operations, designing, building and deploying end‑to‑end AI solutions that move from prototype to production and are adopted by enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI solutions covering GenAI, classical ML, computer vision and agentic systems tailored to enterprise needs.
• Translate ambiguous customer problems into concrete technical architectures and engage directly with clients to define requirements.
• Develop production‑ready AI back‑ends using Python, FastAPI and Docker, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Build and maintain evaluation pipelines, including LLM‑as‑a‑Judge agents, for continuous quality assurance.
• Create and operate MLOps pipelines for data preprocessing, feature extraction, model training and monitoring.
• Conduct research on the latest generative AI, ML and computer‑vision advances and propose their application.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align AI solutions with business goals.
• Document technical specifications and present AI concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or related field; Master’s or PhD is a strong plus.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying AI systems (GenAI, classical ML, computer vision or a combination).
• Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, LangChain or LangFuse.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and containerisation tools (Docker, FastAPI).
• Strong problem‑solving, communication skills in Dutch and English.
