AI-Augmented DevOps Engineer for FinTech SaaS

About the role

Oper is building an AI‑driven mortgage origination platform called Herman, running on sovereign EU cloud infrastructure. As an AI‑Augmented DevOps Engineer you will own and evolve the cloud infrastructure that powers Herman and Oper’s SaaS product, ensuring it remains fast, reliable, and secure as the business scales across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain the infrastructure platform using Terraform on Google Cloud Platform and IBM Cloud.
• Build and operate CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or GitHub) to enable rapid, repeatable, and safe deployments.
• Run Kubernetes workloads and manage deployments via GitOps with Argo CD.
• Provide hands‑on debugging support to developers and non‑technical teams, unblocking releases and incidents.
• Own security and compliance, keeping the platform audit‑ready for ISO 27001, NIST and other fintech regulations.
• Manage secrets, identities, and certificates securely across all tenants.

Required profile

• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure‑as‑code, preferably on GCP and IBM Cloud.
• Proven track record building CI/CD pipelines and operating Kubernetes at scale.
• Deep understanding of security, compliance, and audit requirements in regulated environments.
• Ability to work autonomously, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior team members.
