Aero Commodity Buyer – Procurement of Avionics

About the role

Sabena Engineering is seeking an experienced Aero Commodity Buyer to join its Aero Maintenance and Modification procurement team. The role focuses on sourcing and managing avionics equipment, systems and related commodities, supporting both ongoing maintenance and new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop subcontracting statements of work in collaboration with internal clients.
• Manage the full RFQ process, from supplier selection to presenting results to multifunctional teams.
• Negotiate supplier agreements where appropriate.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support new product development initiatives.
• Maintain and develop supplier relationships.
• Drive KPI improvement action plans with under‑performing suppliers.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities, capable of working under pressure.
• Autonomous, proactive, flexible and effective in project teams.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and French.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of SAP (preferred).
