Academic position in Information Systems Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious, internationally oriented researcher to join the Faculty of Economics and Business at KU Leuven as a tenure‑track academic in Information Systems Engineering. The position combines high‑level research, teaching across multiple campuses, and service to the university community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cutting‑edge research in information systems engineering, publish in top international journals, and attract external research funding.
• Develop and lead international research projects and supervise doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s theses.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in information systems engineering at the Leuven, Brussels, Kortrijk (and potentially Antwerp) campuses, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Adopt research‑based, student‑activating teaching methods and continuously improve educational programmes.
• Participate in professional group activities, internal service duties, and contribute to the broader societal debate.

Required profile

• PhD in Economics, Business, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Industrial Management, Information Management or a related field with demonstrated expertise in information systems engineering.
• Evidence of high‑quality research output and the ability to secure external funding.
• Strong interest in the engineering component of information systems, bridging technical design and organisational context.
• Willingness to engage in teaching, research, and service activities in a collaborative academic environment.
