About the role

As Vice President and Head of Clinical Sciences for Vaccines and Infectious Diseases, you will provide strategic clinical leadership across a global portfolio, guiding development from early research through lifecycle management. You will shape clinical strategy, ensure scientific integrity, and mentor multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality evidence that meets patient needs.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute clinical strategy for the Vaccines and Infectious Diseases portfolio across all development stages.
• Serve as the single point of clinical and medical leadership, providing clear guidance to development and commercial teams.
• Ensure accurate, scientifically robust clinical input to regulatory documents and interactions.
• Oversee global clinical and medical governance, maintaining scientific integrity and appropriate benefit‑risk assessments.
• Allocate clinical staff and resources, aligning them with portfolio priorities.
• Lead project oversight to achieve timely, compliant delivery of clinical activities.
• Drive innovation in trial design, including simplified approaches, outsourced models, and question‑based designs.
• Embed Clinical Trial Representativeness principles to generate inclusive evidence.
• Strengthen cross‑functional collaboration by integrating patient, physician, and payer perspectives.
• Lead talent management, including recruitment, development, succession planning, and promotion of equity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Proven senior clinical leadership experience in vaccines or infectious disease therapeutics.
• Deep expertise in clinical development, regulatory affairs, and benefit‑risk assessment.
• Strategic thinker with a track record of delivering complex, global clinical programs.
• Strong mentorship and talent development capabilities.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and integrate diverse stakeholder insights.
