Training Academy Team Leader

About the role

As the Training Academy Team Leader at Sarens Academy, you will oversee daily operations of the training centre in Wolvertem, Belgium. You will combine technical expertise with strong people leadership to ensure high‑quality learning experiences for internal and external participants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Academy team and report to the Learning & Development Manager.
• Develop, review, and ensure the quality of all training programmes.
• Translate operational needs into practical learning solutions.
• Manage the annual training calendar, including planning and execution of courses and exams.
• Oversee training materials, theoretical exams and certification standards such as VCA, TCVT, ECOL.
• Coach and support technical trainers in their professional growth.
• Maintain smooth daily operations, participant communication, and stakeholder relationships.
• Contribute to budget monitoring, reporting and training‑related subsidies.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for training quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading and coaching a team.
• Strong technical affinity, preferably in heavy lifting, transport or related fields.
• Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, quality‑driven mindset.
• Clear communication skills in a professional environment.
• Fluency in Dutch and English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with VCA certification.
• Familiarity with TCVT certification.
• Familiarity with ECOL certification.
