Technical Designer – High Voltage

About the role

Join Elia Belgium, a key player in the national electricity transmission network, as a High‑Voltage Technical Designer. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to design, modify and expand HV installations that support a sustainable and reliable energy grid.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary designs together with the Project Leader.
• Create layout plans for permit‑application dossiers.
• Compile safety dossiers and present them to the prevention advisor.
• Develop execution plans, including layout, equipment, and steel‑structure drawings.
• Generate associated plan, steel‑structure and connection lists.
• Verify manufacturer dossiers for consistency with your HV study.
• Ensure alignment of the HV study with civil‑work, linear‑assets, and secondary‑systems studies.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the Project Leader during execution phases.
• Perform 3D design using Microstation, integrating requirements from Powerlinks, civil engineering and other disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electromechanics, electrical engineering, mechanics or civil engineering.
• Fluent in Dutch and/or French, good knowledge of the other national language, and basic English with willingness to improve.
• Experience in 3D design using a CAD program and proficiency with the MS Office suite.
• Assertive, client‑oriented communicator who values teamwork and creativity.

Required skills

• Microstation (3D CAD design).
• General CAD proficiency.
• Microsoft Office applications.
