Team Lead - Training Academy

About the role

As the Team Lead of Sarens Academy in Wolvertem, you will oversee the daily operations of our training centre and drive the continuous improvement of technical learning programmes. Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, you will combine technical insight with strong people leadership to ensure high‑quality training delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Academy team, coaching technical trainers and supporting their professional growth.
• Develop, review and ensure the quality of all training programmes, exams and certification standards (VCA, TCVT, ECOL, etc.).
• Manage the annual training calendar, planning and execution of courses and assessments.
• Oversee training materials, theoretical exams and participant communication.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to academy expansion.
• Support budget monitoring, reporting and training‑related subsidies.
• Identify and implement improvement initiatives to raise training quality, safety and efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading and coaching a team.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Clear communication skills and a quality‑driven mindset.
• Fluency in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
• Technical affinity, preferably with experience in heavy lifting, transport or related fields.

Required skills

• Familiarity with certifications such as VCA, TCVT or ECOL (preferred).
• Experience with training, learning programmes or technical education (preferred).
