Tax Manager – Brussels & Liège

About the role

Monument group is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its Finance team in Belgium. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead all direct and indirect tax matters for the insurance, service, and real‑estate entities, ensuring compliance and strategic tax planning.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the Belgian tax environment and advise on risks, opportunities, and required actions for Monument Assurance Belgium and related companies.
• Provide tax advice on real‑estate assets and support M&A transactions in collaboration with legal teams.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns for all entities within the local VAT group and manage the VAT group structure.
• Oversee the annual corporate income tax return process for all local subsidiaries.
• Ensure timely submission and payment of monthly IPT returns in coordination with operations.
• Analyse and calculate deferred tax assets and liabilities for Solvency II and other reporting bases.
• Perform additional tax reporting duties as required by Belgian regulations.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects and team initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in tax, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience focusing on direct and/or indirect tax, with the ability to work independently and lead tax matters.
• Experience in life‑insurance or real‑estate sectors is a strong asset.
• Proven tax reporting and calculation expertise.
• Professional proficiency in French and English; Dutch is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, results‑oriented mindset, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
