System Engineer - Retail IT Operations

About the role

Join the Retail IT Operations team to ensure the technology that powers Circle K stores across Europe runs smoothly. You will be a hands‑on System Engineer, supporting POS, back‑office, forecourt and payment systems while collaborating with cross‑border teams and key vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Tier 2 technical expert, supporting L1 and L3 teams, partners, vendors and store staff.
• Configure, maintain and support devices and applications across the retail estate.
• Manage store lifecycle activities such as new site openings, migrations and closures.
• Oversee software roll‑outs, patching and security updates.
• Resolve incidents, problems and change requests, coordinating with L1 and L3 SMEs.
• Monitor system alerts to ensure uptime and stability of WAN, LAN and Wi‑Fi services.
• Work closely with vendors to meet service quality and SLA targets.
• Document procedures, share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• IT Diploma or degree.
• 3–5 years experience in IT operations, service desk or field service, preferably in retail or fuel environments.
• Hands‑on support experience in multi‑site or distributed environments.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and understanding of IT infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

• POS, Back Office, Forecourt and Payment technologies.
• TSG, Dover and Eurodata solutions (advantage).
• ITSM tools and ITIL processes.
• WAN, LAN and Wi‑Fi networking.
• Scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
