About the role
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our in‑house kitchen at Aikido Security in Ghent. You will work side‑by‑side with the head chef to prepare and serve meals for roughly 70 colleagues each day, ensuring high quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare daily mise en place, cook and serve meals alongside the head chef.
- Take full responsibility for the kitchen when the head chef is absent or off‑site.
- Manage specific stations or menu components and contribute to menu development.
- Handle weekly ordering, stock control and inventory management.
- Maintain HACCP logs, allergen records and food‑safety documentation.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 years of professional kitchen experience.
- Broad culinary knowledge across multiple cuisines.
- HACCP certified or willing to obtain certification within the first month.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Ability to lead the kitchen independently for extended periods.
- Based in Ghent and comfortable working in a two‑person kitchen environment.
