Software Engineer

About the role

Fluves is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to help build and evolve its edge‑server platform and backend services. You will work on a high‑volume data processing stack that supports real‑time fiber‑optic sensing for critical infrastructure worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the edge‑server platform, application backend and API integrations using Python and Django.
• Identify and replace poor architectural patterns with scalable, observable alternatives.
• Continuously improve existing components, adding monitoring, benchmarks and performance profiling.
• Collaborate with product teams to design, implement and refine new features and integrations.
• Document best practices, trade‑offs and deployment procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong communication skills and a habit of writing clear documentation.

• Parallel computing and multiprocessing
• Message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Redis
• Task queues (e.g., Celery)
• Understanding of CPU/GPU hardware constraints
• Low‑level programming concepts or GPU architecture knowledge
• Scientific Python libraries (NumPy, Xarray)
• Basic knowledge of Fourier transforms
• Unit testing, Sphinx documentation, Git
• CI/CD pipeline familiarity
