Software Engineer

About the role

You will be the first software engineering hire at Gridual, working across the full backend stack to build systems that control physical assets in a live energy market. This role is for a self‑starter who thrives on solving complex problems quickly while maintaining high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement low‑latency data pipelines that feed forecasting and real‑time control systems.
• Develop backend services that integrate with energy markets and partner APIs.
• Ensure observability and reliability for systems where downtime has real consequences.
• Make architecture decisions that enable scalable growth.

Required profile

• Ambitious and bold, ready to tackle high‑impact problems.
• Strong software engineering background with Python‑heavy backend experience.
• Proven experience building robust, production‑ready data pipelines or backend systems.
• Hands‑on ownership mindset; ships code quickly and leverages AI‑based tools.
