Software Designer/Tester – Simulation & Tools

About the role

Médiane Benelux is seeking a Software Designer/Tester specialized in simulation and tooling for critical railway systems. You will work in a DevOps‑oriented environment, delivering reliable, high‑performance software components while driving automation and continuous integration.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects to define robust software specifications and contribute to system architecture with CI/CD focus.
• Develop software components in Python, C# and C++ and create automation scripts for testing, deployment and tooling.
• Design, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or equivalent) and ensure version‑control best practices.
• Implement automated testing at unit, integration and validation levels.
• Support integration between software and hardware, working closely with test and system teams.
• Continuously improve DevOps practices, promoting an automation‑first mindset and scaling pipelines.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Python, C# and C++.
• Proven experience creating Python automation scripts.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI.
• Solid understanding of version control (Git/GitLab) and branching strategies.
• Ability to work on safety‑critical railway software and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
