Social Media & Community Coordinator

About the role

River Cleanup is seeking a Social Media & Community Coordinator to bring its stories, campaigns and impact to life across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. The role covers the full social media cycle – planning, creating, publishing, engaging, promoting and reporting – while supporting the Director of Digital Marketing & Communications.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage day‑to‑day content across all platforms, maintaining a content calendar at least one month ahead.
• Write engaging copy, design visuals in Canva and shoot/edit short‑form video for Reels, TikTok and other formats.
• Coordinate with external agencies, freelancers and creators to support content production.
• Schedule and publish content, ensuring brand consistency and timely delivery.
• Engage the community by managing comments, direct messages and community emails.
• Set up, monitor and optimise paid social campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok, tracking spend and performance.
• Produce regular performance reports against agreed KPIs and use insights to improve future content.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in social media, digital communications or content creation.
• Excellent written and spoken English; professional proficiency in Dutch or French (both preferred).
• Proven ability to independently shoot and edit short‑form video.
• Experience managing paid social campaigns and reporting on results.

Required skills

• Canva for visual content creation.
• Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads Manager.
• TikTok Ads Manager.
• HubSpot, GA4 and social scheduling/reporting platforms.
• Strong copywriting for social media.
