Short-Term Power Dispatcher – Belgium

About the role

Join TotalEnergies' Short‑Term Power Europe team in Liège and help balance and dispatch a diverse power portfolio across Belgium. You will work closely with day‑ahead and intraday trading teams to optimise generation assets in a fast‑moving, volatile market.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with centralized Day‑Ahead and Intraday teams to ensure optimal balancing of TotalEnergies' power portfolio in Belgium.
• Operate and fine‑tune flexible assets in real time, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), combined‑cycle gas turbines (CCGT), combined heat‑power units (CHP) and a hydro power plant.
• Act as the single point of contact for market participants such as the Transmission System Operator, traders, other energy suppliers, renewable producers, asset operators, trading platforms and data providers.
• Support projects aimed at securing, optimising or expanding the short‑term desk activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, engineering, mathematics, business administration).
• Strong interest in the energy sector and ability to grasp complex market mechanisms.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to process and summarise large amounts of information.
• Fluent in French and English; Dutch is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and adapt to shift schedules (50% of the time).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency in VBA.
• Experience with Python (asset).
