Service Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Service Team Leader to join Hitachi Energy’s Service organisation in Belgium. In this role you will lead a team of service engineers, ensuring high‑quality field service delivery and strong customer relationships across the power and energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of service engineers, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
• Plan, schedule and allocate resources for preventive, corrective and emergency service interventions.
• Ensure all activities comply with Hitachi Energy safety regulations, quality standards and customer specifications.
• Monitor service performance metrics, analyse trends and implement corrective actions to boost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Act as primary contact for key customer accounts on service inquiries and escalations.
• Collaborate with sales, project management and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Manage service agreements, warranty claims and spare‑parts inventory, and identify opportunities for contract renewals and upselling.
• Coordinate the Stand‑by Service and prepare regular performance reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of field service experience in the power or energy industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical professionals.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel frequently within Belgium and occasionally internationally.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of power products and systems such as transformers, switchgear and grid automation.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with project management tools and techniques.
