Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer to join a large Belgian organization with a complex multi‑site IT environment. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration and continuous improvement of the company’s core infrastructure, covering servers, virtualization, endpoint devices and networking services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server (2019/2022) and Linux server environments.
• Maintain VMware ESXi virtualization platforms and related core services.
• Manage Windows 11 endpoint devices and peripheral hardware.
• Monitor system availability, performance and capacity, and drive optimisation initiatives.
• Provide third‑level support to the Service Desk and resolve complex infrastructure incidents.
• Create and keep up‑to‑date technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Participate in infrastructure evolution by proposing and implementing technical improvements.
• Take part in an on‑call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability.
• Support existing applications and automation scripts when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering with progressive responsibility.
• Valid Category B driving licence.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022 administration.
• Linux system administration.
• Windows 11 endpoint management.
• LAN/WAN networking concepts.
• VMware ESXi virtualization.
• Relational databases: PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Scripting and automation (basic software development knowledge).
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, optimisation of production infrastructure.
