Senior Software Engineer – Backend (Node.js, TypeScript)

About the role

UFODRIVE is scaling its eMobility platform, UFOFleet, and is looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer to strengthen the backend team. You will help shape a platform that powers millions of kilometres driven by hundreds of thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

• Own the development of all server‑side logic, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code to power the platform.
• Design and deploy low‑latency, high‑availability applications with a focus on performance.
• Integrate diverse data‑storage solutions to meet complex business requirements.
• Develop comprehensive automated tests and testing platforms to maintain code quality.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong background in backend technologies, especially Node.js, GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and deep expertise in PostgreSQL (schema design, queries, functions, row‑level security, performance optimisation).
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Jest and Supertest.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Ability to work onsite in Ghent at least two days per week and authorized to work in Belgium.
