Senior Social Media Manager – European Institution Focus

About the role

We are seeking a senior Social Media Manager to lead digital communication for European Institution projects. The role focuses on creating engaging video‑driven content, managing channels and ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt social media content for multiple platforms, aligning with audience and communication goals.
• Lead the production of short‑form videos, including filming, editing and optimisation for social channels.
• Write copy for posts, captions, video scripts and community interactions.
• Coordinate visual assets, animations and infographics with designers and stakeholders.
• Plan editorial calendars, schedule publications and manage day‑to‑day channel operations.
• Contribute to strategy by identifying target audiences, trends and innovative engagement approaches.
• Advise on paid social campaigns, monitor conversations and flag reputational risks.
• Analyse performance data, produce reports and recommend optimisation actions.
• Ensure all activities comply with branding, accessibility, copyright, data‑protection and institutional guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communication, Digital Marketing, Journalism or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in social media management, digital communications or content creation.
• Proven expertise in social media strategy, video production and community management.
• Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities.
• Experience with analytics, reporting and performance optimisation.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders in an international environment.
• Excellent command of English; additional EU languages are a plus.
• Previous experience within European Institutions is a strong asset.
