Senior Project Manager – NATO NCIA

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex IT and digital capability projects for the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) in Brussels. Reporting to the Head of the Project Management Office, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to NATO quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and manage assigned projects in line with NATO regulations and NCIA policies.
• Deliver projects within agreed time, cost and quality tolerances.
• Develop procurement strategies, benefit and risk analyses, and business cases.
• Execute quality‑assurance activities and ensure successful capability delivery.
• Gather client requirements, perform analysis and support problem resolution.
• Allocate resources, monitor milestones and initiate corrective actions when needed.
• Supervise project teams in both direct and matrix environments.
• Maintain realistic project plans and provide regular stakeholder communication.
• Participate in broader PMO activities and provide technical support as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 3 years post‑degree experience.
• Formal project‑management certification (PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP).
• Extensive experience managing large‑scale IT projects in enterprise or government settings.
• Prior experience in NATO, defence, government or international programmes is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Power BI (Business Intelligence tooling).
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• PRINCE2 or PMP certification.
• Knowledge of software development platforms and project‑management automation tools.
