Senior Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction and engineering projects for Mercury in Mons, Belgium. The role involves overseeing site safety, quality, schedule, cost, and subcontractor performance across sectors such as data centres, advanced technology and life sciences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety in partnership with the project team and Mercury Safety Advisor, including set‑up, monitoring and closure of the safety file.
• Oversee site quality assurance together with the Mercury QA Manager, handling file creation, management and close‑out.
• Control the project schedule in alignment with Mercury’s project team, consulting engineers and client requirements.
• Administer all project costs – labour, material, plant, equipment, variations and valuations.
• Direct day‑to‑day site operations and coordinate subcontractor activities, tracking progress, manpower and weekly meetings.
• Maintain the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system, ensuring weekly punch‑list updates.
• Prepare internal and external weekly progress reports, highlighting percentage complete, risks and delays.
• Ensure all subcontractor documentation, especially safety records, is up‑to‑date and archived.
• Lead project close‑out activities including final accounts, O&M manuals, safety and QA files, and hand‑over documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale construction or engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of site safety and quality assurance processes.
• Demonstrated ability to control budgets, schedules and subcontractor performance.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and client‑facing meetings.
