Senior Procurement Specialist – Strategic Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to act as a Strategic Buyer for technical and indirect spend categories within a global industrial manufacturing environment. You will join a lean, high‑visibility procurement team and collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, production, laboratory and operations stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical procurement and MRO categories, including mechanical spare parts, pumps, valves, motors, rotating equipment, industrial tools and production support materials.
• Oversee indirect spend such as maintenance consumables, laboratory equipment, site services and support materials.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies, lead supplier negotiations and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Conduct market analysis, benchmarking and supplier consolidation projects.
• Improve supplier performance, risk management and contract administration.
• Perform spend analysis, reporting, KPI tracking and procurement dashboard creation.
• Utilise cost modelling and data‑driven decision making to optimise procurement outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic buying, technical purchasing and category management within chemicals, petrochemicals or manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience purchasing MRO, engineering and indirect categories.
• Strong commercial mindset and supplier negotiation expertise.
• Background in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably with SAP ERP experience.
• Ability to engage confidently with technical stakeholders.
