Senior Network Engineer (L2/L3) – Hybrid – 1 Year Contract

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer (L2/L3) to join a prestigious global consultancy in Ghent. The role is hybrid, combining office and home work, and is focused on day‑to‑day network operations, troubleshooting and continuous improvement across a multi‑site international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for global LAN/WAN infrastructure, including offices, labs and remote users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across routing, switching, Wi‑Fi, VPN and internet connectivity.
• Manage and optimise SD‑WAN/SASE solutions (Palo Alto, Meraki).
• Configure routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and firewall policies.
• Support site deployments, upgrades and new office expansions.
• Monitor network performance, identify optimisation opportunities and maintain runbooks.
• Collaborate with security, cloud and infrastructure teams on cross‑domain topics.
• Engage with vendors (ISPs, integrators) for incident resolution and service improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of enterprise network engineering or support experience (L2/L3).
• Hands‑on expertise with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco Meraki platforms.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing (BGP, OSPF) and network segmentation.
• Proven troubleshooting skills in complex, multi‑site environments.
• Experience working in an international, business‑critical setting.
