Senior Microsoft Purview Consultant / Architect

About the role

Devoteam, a digital transformation consulting firm with long-standing partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft and ServiceNow, is looking for a Senior Microsoft Purview Consultant / Architect for its Security & Compliance Advisory practice. You will act as a trusted advisor and lead architect for enterprise clients, bridging business risk, legal compliance (GDPR, NIS2, DORA) and enterprise-level Purview architecture, while leading and executing implementations yourself, with a delivery or implementation consultant available for large-scale or complex builds. A major focus is helping clients set up AI governance and Microsoft Copilot readiness frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead executive discovery sessions and workshops with C-suite stakeholders (CISO, DPO, General Counsel) to turn compliance requirements into technical designs.
• Design enterprise-level Purview architectures covering data security, governance and lifecycle, and risk and compliance.
• Assess client data risk before AI rollout and design permission controls and data lifecycle rules to prevent accidental data oversharing via Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Deliver Copilot enablement and governance training, translating Purview controls into practical Copilot usage guidance.
• Define integration architecture between Purview, Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud Apps and Microsoft Entra ID with the delivery team.
• Mentor junior consultants, contribute reusable technical baselines and support pre-sales such as technical scoping and SOW creation.

Required profile

• 5+ years in IT security, compliance or cloud consultancy, with at least 2+ years designing, implementing and leading Microsoft Purview architectures for enterprise clients.
• Demonstrable experience designing or delivering Microsoft Copilot adoption programs, governance frameworks or hands-on Copilot solutions.
• Fluent English and either French or Dutch, or both.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of M365 service management and Entra ID permissions.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, NIS2, DORA and ISO 27001.
• PowerShell for reading, validating and lightly adapting scripts; deep scripting or automation is a plus.
• Desirable certifications: SC-100 (Cybersecurity Architect Expert), SC-400, SC-300, CISSP or CISM.
