Senior Linux Monitoring Engineer – Energy Sector (Brussels)

About the role

Our client, a leading operator of critical energy infrastructure, is looking for a Senior Linux Monitoring Engineer to join their multidisciplinary infrastructure team in Brussels. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security and observability of large‑scale Linux environments supporting mission‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced operational support for enterprise Linux platforms, handling provisioning, patching, upgrades and maintenance.
• Design, implement and continuously improve monitoring, alerting, dashboarding and log‑aggregation solutions.
• Detect and resolve incidents, conduct root‑cause analyses and contribute to reducing MTTD and MTTR.
• Develop automation workflows using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and configuration‑management tools, integrating monitoring and remediation.
• Participate in change management, incident/problem management and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate new observability technologies, lead proof‑of‑concepts and collaborate with security, network and application teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT operations or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven experience supporting large‑scale Linux environments in complex organisations.
• Hands‑on experience with physical, virtualised and/or containerised infrastructures.
• Strong analytical skills with a proactive attitude toward automation and reliability.
