Senior Industrial Designer – Furniture & Systems

About the role

Cohabs is looking for a Senior Industrial Designer to own the development of its physical product framework across shared homes. You will translate operational needs into practical, scalable, and well‑designed furniture, fixtures and systems that enhance community living.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the physical product framework, including guidelines, technical specifications and a product catalog.
• Design and select furniture, fixtures, materials and systems, balancing aesthetics, functionality, durability, maintenance and cost.
• Own product topics end‑to‑end: from design and supplier selection to production, logistics and deployment.
• Build and manage a supplier network, negotiate pricing, production and logistics in collaboration with Procurement.
• Translate product decisions into clear technical documentation for project and property teams and support maintenance and replacement.
• Track product costs, ensure solutions stay within budget, and monitor new materials, suppliers and manufacturing processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in industrial, furniture or product design with a relevant degree.
• Hands‑on experience with suppliers, production and logistics for physical products.
• End‑to‑end thinking from functional requirements to cost, sourcing, production and deployment.
• Strong eye for design while prioritising function, durability, maintenance and scalability.
• Ability to design systems based on operational needs and constraints.
• Fluent in French and comfortable working in English.
