Senior Functional Designer / Functional Analyst

About the role

AG Insurance, Belgium’s largest insurer, is seeking a hands‑on Senior Functional Designer / Functional Analyst to join its IS Life team. You will work closely with business, IT and testing teams to translate high‑level business needs into robust, production‑ready solutions for life‑insurance contract and claims systems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse high‑level business requirements and design structured IT solutions.
• Define functional specifications for user interfaces, business logic and database architecture.
• Coordinate implementation activities with technical teams and prepare functional integration test cases.
• Support product validation, review COBOL source code and write SQL queries when needed.
• Monitor production incidents, coordinate corrective actions and assist project leaders throughout implementation.
• Ensure alignment of solutions with business stakeholders and maintain platform stability.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of functional analysis and solution design on large‑scale projects.
• Experience in the insurance or banking domain, preferably life‑insurance claims and contract management.
• Strong analytical, pragmatic and quality‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Master’s or Engineering degree in IT/scientific fields, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years relevant experience.

• .NET development knowledge.

• Advanced MS Office proficiency.
