Senior Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Financial Controller to own financial controlling and operational accounting for our European entities in Denmark and Poland. You will work in a fast‑moving, lean environment, reporting to the Finance Director Europe and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Full ownership of the General Ledger for Denmark and Poland, including journal entries, payroll, intercompany, and adjustments.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate trial balances and financial statements.
• Prepare and deliver Group reporting under US GAAP, produce P&L and balance‑sheet analyses with variance explanations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and act as the main contact for internal and external auditors.
• Monitor liquidity, manage intercompany reconciliations and contribute to working‑capital improvement initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements, support ERP (Sage X3) enhancements and reporting tool standardisation across European entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in accounting and/or financial controlling, preferably in a multi‑entity, international manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience with the full accounting cycle, cash, payroll and reconciliations.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French, Polish or Danish is a plus.

Required skills

• US GAAP knowledge.
• ERP experience, specifically Sage X3.
• Proficiency with General Ledger management and intercompany processes.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
