Senior Electrical Engineer – Offshore Vessels

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical maintenance, retrofit and improvement projects on a modern fleet of offshore and dredging vessels. The position is shore‑based with occasional international travel to vessels, shipyards and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical maintenance, repair, retrofit and improvement projects across offshore and dredging vessels.
• Prepare technical scopes, budgets, schedules, safety documentation and resource plans.
• Manage projects from planning through execution, ensuring quality, budget and timeline compliance.
• Coordinate activities with vessel crews, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Analyse recurring electrical failures and implement reliability improvements.
• Conduct technical assessments on board vessels and at shipyards to define project scopes.
• Provide expertise during supplier selection, procurement and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, automation, reliability and operations teams on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and industry standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience in maritime, offshore or heavy‑asset environments.
• Proven experience managing complex engineering, maintenance or retrofit projects.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
