Senior Corporate Counsel

About the role

Microsoft’s Corporate, Legal, and External Affairs (CELA) department is seeking a senior attorney to join its Cybersecurity Regulatory Affairs Team. Based in Europe, the Senior Corporate Counsel will guide the company through complex cybersecurity regulations, support compliance programmes and help shape emerging legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret cybersecurity regulations worldwide, with a focus on European law.
• Provide legal advice to product, engineering and compliance teams on meeting regulatory obligations.
• Develop and implement compliance strategies for new cybersecurity statutes and AI‑related security requirements.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for internal legal, policy and government‑affairs teams, advising on legislative priorities.
• Support Microsoft’s Cybersecurity Governance Council and respond to regulatory inquiries and security incident reports.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection or technology regulation.
• Deep knowledge of European cybersecurity and AI‑related legal frameworks.
• Proven ability to engage with regulators and advise senior business leaders.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills in a fast‑moving, multinational environment.
