Senior Construction Site Health & Safety Manager

About the role

PM Group is seeking experienced Senior Construction Site Health & Safety Managers to lead health and safety programmes on large‑scale construction projects across Ireland and Western Europe. Reporting to the Site Construction Manager and the Group Construction Health & Safety Services Manager, you will design and implement project‑specific safety strategies to achieve best‑in‑class performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, promote and maintain a proactive health & safety culture on each project.
• Ensure compliance with local and national health & safety legislation throughout the construction phase.
• Implement PM Group’s environmental and sustainability programmes.
• Co‑ordinate site access, security, inductions, first aid, welfare and emergency arrangements.
• Manage on‑site health & safety resources and monitor performance through audits and inspections.
• Report on leading and lagging health & safety indicators and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training, workshops and awareness briefings in partnership with site management.
• Oversee safety transition from construction to commissioning and maintain ISO45001 compliance.

Required profile

• Significant experience in construction health & safety management on large projects.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and European health & safety legislation.
• Proven ability to develop and implement safety programmes and behavioural‑based safety initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO45001 accredited safety management systems.
