Senior Communications Officer

About the role
The Senior Communications Officer will lead the development and delivery of communications activities that raise the visibility of CERRE’s research on regulation in energy, mobility and the digital economy. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the role works across media relations, digital channels, events and stakeholder outreach to engage policymakers, regulators and industry leaders across Europe and beyond.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to and implement CERRE’s communications strategy with a focus on media outreach and positioning.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, EU policy media and communications counterparts across Europe.
- Proactively pitch research, organise media briefings, interviews and coordinate embargoed releases.
- Draft and disseminate press releases, newsletters and other media‑facing content.
- Monitor policy developments and sector news to identify communications opportunities.
- Oversee CERRE’s digital channels (website, LinkedIn, YouTube, Bluesky) ensuring content quality, consistency and audience engagement.
- Edit and proofread reports, newsletters and event materials.
- Manage production of digital assets such as short videos, infographics, audiograms and animated content.
- Identify new formats, tools and approaches to enhance outreach and engagement.
- Manage external contractors and service providers as needed.
- Prepare quarterly performance reports, project impact reports and communications benchmarking analyses.
- Organise and oversee research launches, coordinating communications across channels.
- Support high‑profile events, conferences and webinars, including technical execution on Zoom, LinkedIn Live and YouTube Live.
Required profile
- University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, European Affairs or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in communications, public affairs, media or stakeholder engagement.

- Press release and newsletter drafting.
- Website content management.
- Social media management on LinkedIn, YouTube and Bluesky.
- Video editing and production.
- Infographic design.
- Audiogram creation.
- Animated content production.
- Zoom, LinkedIn Live and YouTube Live technical operation.
