Senior Backend Product Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Product Software Engineer to join the Kyte team, a lightweight SaaS invoicing solution for freelancers and small businesses. You will work on high‑performance, scalable backend services, collaborating closely with product, design, and frontend teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend features using Go (Golang) to ensure scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to define and deliver new functionality.
• Identify technical debt and refactor code during feature development.
• Establish and promote best practices for component architecture, state management, and testing.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies: daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Stay current with backend technologies and introduce improvements where appropriate.
• Develop comprehensive testing routines to ensure software quality.

Required profile

• Professional experience building and maintaining production‑grade software in a product team.
• Willingness to learn Go on the job if not already experienced.
• Hands‑on experience deploying applications in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and day‑to‑day development workflows.
• Strong fundamentals in software design, APIs, data modeling, and operational concerns.
• Learning mindset and openness to AI‑assisted development tools.
