Senior AWS AI Engineer

About the role

Devoteam, a digital transformation consulting firm with long-standing partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft and ServiceNow, is looking for a Senior AWS AI Engineer to join its growing AI engineering team. You will design, build and deploy production-grade AI agents and generative AI solutions on AWS, acting as a trusted advisor to customers and helping them adopt agentic and generative AI.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the go-to AI engineering expert for key customers, supporting pre-sales, solutioning and proof-of-value engagements.
• Design, build and ship autonomous and multi-agent systems in production using Amazon Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore, with frameworks such as Strands Agents, LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Select, evaluate and integrate foundation models on Amazon Bedrock, design RAG pipelines, apply prompt engineering and model customization, and use Amazon SageMaker for classical machine learning models.
• Design highly available, scalable and secure AI architectures on AWS, contributing to AI strategy, reference architectures and reusable accelerators.
• Operationalize AI agents end-to-end: evaluation, guardrails, observability, cost and latency optimization, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
• Implement responsible-AI guardrails, data privacy and security controls (Bedrock Guardrails, IAM, encryption, PII handling) and comply with frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Work autonomously across the full delivery lifecycle, take part in support or on-call rotations, mentor junior engineers and stay current with the AWS AI landscape.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/Data Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience with cloud platforms, including hands-on AWS development and deployment.
• Proven experience designing, building and running AI agents or generative AI applications in production.
• Fluent English and Dutch (French is a plus).

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Q.
• Generative AI and agentic concepts: foundation models, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, tool/function calling, multi-agent orchestration.
• At least one agent framework (Strands Agents, LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI or the Bedrock Agents SDK).
• Classical machine learning on Amazon SageMaker (classification, regression, forecasting, clustering).
• Python with solid software engineering practices; Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK and CI/CD pipelines.
• AWS core services (IAM, S3, Lambda, VPC, API Gateway, ECS/EKS) and security best practices.
• AWS certifications (e.g. Generative AI Developer, Machine Learning Specialty, AI Practitioner, Solutions Architect) are a strong plus.
