Safety Assurance Engineer

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Safety Assurance Engineer to support safety activities across signalling projects and programmes. Working under the guidance of the PSAM, you will contribute to safety analysis, reporting and compliance for hardware, software and system domains.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safety analyses following the Signalling Safety Instruction and PSAM guidance.
• Assist in preparing Safety Reports and the Safety Case for projects or products.
• Apply safety assurance methodologies, including risk acceptance criteria, verification and validation.
• Participate in periodic safety reviews and support the resolution of internal or external assessment findings.
• Monitor performance indicators such as gate‑review outcomes and assessment rework.

Required profile

• Advanced university or engineering degree.
• Operational English reading and writing for technical documentation.
• Knowledge of system, electrical, electronics or electromechanical engineering.
• Hardware and/or software domain experience; safety experience may be entry‑level.
• Familiarity with Cenelec safety standards or equivalent (e.g., AREMA, IEC).
