Reservations Manager

About the role

The Reservations Manager leads the in‑house reservations team at a luxury resort, ensuring optimal room inventory, revenue growth, and exceptional guest experiences. This role combines operational oversight, staff development, and close collaboration with revenue, sales, and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review revenue reports, monitor trends and implement initiatives to increase room revenue.
• Audit group blocks daily with the Revenue Manager and Rooms Coordinator to maximize inventory availability.
• Manage commissions for group and transient bookings in partnership with Finance.
• Lead and train the reservations team, conduct quarterly one‑on‑one check‑ins, and host monthly department meetings.
• Oversee cancellations, early departures, festive deposits, and ensure accurate room type routing and availability.
• Coordinate with sales, meeting planners, and central reservations to align bookings with revenue guidelines.
• Maintain staffing levels, recruit, hire, onboard, and schedule employees to meet operational needs.
• Process payroll, invoice supplies, and manage the team incentive program.
• Enter guest complaints in HotSos and ensure compliance with Forbes and IHG Rewards standards.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of management experience in reservations for a luxury resort or hotel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or a related field.
• Proven ability to drive revenue, manage budgets, and improve guest engagement scores.
• Strong organizational and communication skills across multiple departments.
