Regional Security Officer (NRU) – Kyiv, Ukraine

About the role

The NATO Representation to Ukraine (NRU) is seeking a Regional Security Officer to provide technical advice, oversight and support on security and safety matters for staff, premises and information systems. The incumbent will operate in a high‑risk environment in Kyiv and may be required to work outside normal office hours and deputise for the Senior Regional Security Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and manage security and safety of NRU premises, staff and Communication & Information Systems (CIS), including cyber security support.
• Oversee access‑control, guard force, mobile operations and emergency preparedness.
• Lead initial response to security incidents affecting CIS and other security systems and conduct investigations.
• Contribute to project management and risk‑based security planning under the guidance of the Senior Regional Security Officer.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in security protection of personnel, premises, security systems and CIS abroad.
• Experience in incident/crisis planning and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Language proficiency: Advanced (V) in English or French and Beginner (I) in the other.
