Quality Engineer I – Aerospace

About the role

Sabca is looking for a Quality Engineer I to become the internal focal point for all quality‑related matters on its aerospace programs. You will work within program teams, collaborate closely with suppliers, the system quality team, and operations, ensuring that products meet the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor quality performance of assigned programs.
• Act as the primary interface with customers on quality topics, including progress updates, inquiries, and claims.
• Manage internal, external, and supplier non‑conformities: handling, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑preventive actions.
• Perform risk analyses on products and manufacturing processes.
• Organise and conduct customer and product audits.
• Develop and maintain program‑specific quality documentation.
• Ensure compliance with EN9100 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Carry out rigorous self‑checks and report risks to prevent incidents.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in a similar sector, preferably with quality‑focused responsibilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, be flexible across programs, and demonstrate a solution‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• 5 Whys analysis.
• Knowledge of EN9100 quality standard.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental standard.
• Risk analysis techniques.
• Root‑cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
• Familiarity with aerospace materials and structural assembly.
