Python Developer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to design, build and maintain backend services for critical infrastructure projects. The role focuses on creating robust, secure, and scalable solutions using modern Python frameworks and cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend APIs and services with Python, preferably using FastAPI.
• Implement data validation and schema management with Pydantic.
• Write asynchronous code using AsyncIO and integrate with message brokers such as RabbitMQ.
• Design and optimise database interactions with MSSQL and PostgreSQL.
• Contribute to service‑based and event‑driven architectures, ensuring security requirements are met.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines, containerisation with Docker, and deployment on Azure.
• Provide technical mentorship and support to team members.

Required profile

• IT or related bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• 6+ years of professional development experience, including 3+ years with Python.
• Strong understanding of IT security in critical infrastructure contexts.
• Experience working in agile teams and excellent communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Dutch and/or French; German is a plus.
