Project Specialist - IT

About the role

The City is seeking a Project Specialist – IT to support the planning, execution, and financial oversight of technology projects and initiatives across its divisions. This role provides essential administrative and budgeting assistance while ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the completion of IT projects, programs, and initiatives for city departments.
• Provide administrative support, schedule meetings, and monitor deadlines.
• Create and maintain project schedules, timelines, and budgets.
• Prepare reports, presentations, communications, and correspondence as required.
• Prepare and review financial reports, assist with the annual departmental budget, and process accounts payable information.
• Collaborate with the Fiscal Manager and Commissioner to deliver budget performance reports and identify shortfalls.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field (preferred).
• At least one year of full‑time paid experience in government or the private sector.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license or state‑issued ID.
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
