Production Supervisor – Batch Process Chemical Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead a batch‑process chemical manufacturing site in the Antwerp region. The role combines hands‑on supervision of 70‑75 operators with responsibility for safety, quality, and on‑time delivery of a diverse product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a production workforce of approximately 70‑75 employees.
• Ensure safe, efficient production that meets quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Supervise daily operations across multiple batch lines and coordinate changeovers between varied recipes, colours and formulations.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Promote a strong safety, environmental and housekeeping culture.
• Collaborate with Quality, Planning, Maintenance, R&D and Supply Chain to optimise schedules and resolve process deviations.
• Manage staffing levels, conduct performance reviews and organise training programmes.
• Implement Lean, 5S and other improvement methodologies to achieve operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant quality systems and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Technology or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven supervisory or management experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading large production teams (70‑75 staff) and handling multiple product formulations.
• Strong understanding of batch‑process operations and process discipline.
