Procurement and Logistics Officer

About the role

The Procurement and Logistics Officer manages the end‑to‑end procurement process for spare parts, stores and services, ensuring the fleet’s technical availability. The role maintains strong supplier relationships and supports strategic sourcing initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Clarify purchase requests from ships, obtain quotations, issue purchase orders and maintain inventory records for stores and spare parts.
• Track delivery status of spares and stores, consolidate shipments to reduce cost, and follow up until delivery is confirmed.
• Coordinate class and statutory surveys, arrange required services, and manage routine repairs and major repair approvals.
• Handle all related communications, maintain document control, and ensure timely periodic reporting from vessels.
• Participate in technical operating cost tasks, including invoice review, classification, system entry and overdue invoice follow‑up.
• Maintain up‑to‑date manuals, drawings, instruction books and central cost data for major stores, equipment and repairs.
• Monitor fuel, lubricants, potable and technical water samples, follow up analysis reports and inform the Vessel Manager of any non‑conformities.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience in procurement, logistics or supply chain.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Experience in the maritime or offshore industry is an asset.
