Process Operator – Microalgae Production

About the role

axabio is seeking a dedicated Process Operator to join its microalgae production line in Hemiksem, Belgium. You will work on cutting‑edge closed‑reactor technology to produce natural astaxanthin for nutraceutical and cosmetics markets. This full‑time, on‑site position offers the chance to contribute to a sustainable biotech operation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cultivation and processing equipment for Haematococcus microalgae.
• Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished products to meet GMP standards.
• Maintain optimal production levels, record data accurately, and generate reports.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical deviations in the process.
• Ensure a safe, hygienic work environment in line with legal and company requirements.
• Collaborate with the team on continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Experience in a production environment, preferably food, nutraceutical, or cosmetics.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance and GMP standards.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
