Principal Software Developer – Building-Core (C++)

About the role

Octave BricsCAD is looking for a Principal Software Developer to join its Building-Core team. You will work within a small group of engineers creating BIM and construction‑focused tools that transform large‑scale design data into actionable documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the team lead on software design and architecture decisions.
• Mentor and guide international developers, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Participate in product‑wide code reviews to ensure technical quality.
• Design innovative, future‑proof solutions for complex problems while balancing new feature development and optimization.
• Improve development processes for efficiency, transparency, and collaboration.
• Communicate openly and respectfully within the team.
• Align technical innovations with the strategic growth of BricsCAD BIM.

Required profile

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional C++ development (minimum C++11) and at least 2 years working in a team.
• Strong background in software design, architecture, and complex system development.
• Advanced knowledge of Object‑Oriented Design.
• Comfort with basic mathematics such as geometry and linear algebra, and understanding of algorithmic complexity.
• Ability to plan work realistically, work independently, and communicate honestly in English.
