Principal GIS Developer – Geospatial Software Engineer

About the role

Atos is looking for a Principal GIS Developer to create geospatial software that transforms location data into actionable decisions. You will bring deep technical expertise and help shape the design and scaling of spatial systems for the Air Traffic Management sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain geospatial applications that support real‑time and large‑scale decision making.
• Design, implement and optimise spatial data pipelines and databases.
• Integrate GIS solutions with machine‑learning models and real‑time data feeds.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust, cloud‑native architecture.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on GIS development experience.
• Strong command of GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and GRASS.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript and Java.
• Experience with spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial) and web‑mapping frameworks (Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography or equivalent practical experience.
