PR & Communications Specialist

About the role

Join Vlerick Business School’s Central Marketing team to shape and execute the international press and public‑relations strategy. You will bring the school’s purpose and brand story to life through media coverage, press releases and compelling content.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the international PR strategy, activity plan and media outreach to secure positive coverage.
• Write, edit and distribute all school‑level press releases.
• Coordinate with external PR, media monitoring and copywriting suppliers, ensuring quality, tone of voice and budget compliance.
• Collaborate with the content marketing team and social media marketer to create and amplify brand content across channels.
• Build and maintain relationships with faculty, journalists, influencers and other media contacts.
• Track, analyse and report on PR performance, using data to optimise future activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in press & PR strategy, planning and implementation.
• At least 5 years experience in brand storytelling and copywriting.
• Strong network of media contacts and proven ability to nurture relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal command of English and Dutch.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple workflows under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work across Ghent and Brussels campuses while using a home‑office setup.
